Mike Trace Engineering (MTE) is a 100% Australian-owned and family-operated company with over 30 years of industry experience. Established in 2002 and based in Brisbane, MTE has grown to serve customers across Queensland and beyond. We specialise in the sales, servicing, spare parts, and training for all makes and models of sweepers.

As our team and reputation for high-quality workmanship and reliability grew, we identified a gap in the market for a purpose-built suction sweeper tailored to Australian conditions. After more than 15 years of promoting, servicing, and training customers on various sweeper models, we made the decision in 2017 to develop our own sweeper.

​

Through extensive consultation with our customers, we designed a sweeper that is efficient, environmentally friendly, safe, productive, and robust enough to meet Australia's harsh conditions. This development was done in collaboration with Ceksan, resulting in a unique version of the CityRay sweeper specifically built for Australia. MTE holds the exclusive import rights for all Ceksan products, including the CityMouse.

A key design feature of our sweeper kits is versatility — they can be mounted on a range of chassis, including Isuzu, Hino, and Volvo. The first Australian-designed CityRay suction sweeper was sold in 2019 and built to the exact specifications requested by our customer. Since then, we’ve delivered numerous units and built a demonstrator model for hands-on customer trials.

One of our proudest achievements is building the first suction road sweeper on a Volvo FE chassis in Australia.

MTE is also a listed preferred supplier on VendorPanel for Local Buy (QLD), WALGA (WA), LGAP (SA), LGP (NSW), MAV (VIC), and Tasmania.

Our founder, Mike Trace, is a time-served Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, specialising in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.

 

MTE provides services throughout Australia and New Zealand to a wide range of customers, including many local councils.
